I think its about a mother-son relationship - axe thinks its about infidelity....and you guys think......

HEY Jude....
I decided to surprise Axe this weekend, by taking him to the Beatles Brunch in Times square...as everyone who's been following my blog, knows by now, that Axe is a HUGE Beatles fan....and I must tell you the band did not dissapoint us at all....it was awesome and Rockin!!!! I mean, we are never going to see the original band play live, and these guys came pretty close!!! Axe was actually humming along with the songs, rather he knew every word of each song played...and these guys were dressed like the Beatles, complete with wigs and the British accents....Axe and I debated for a while if they were really British....the brunch was a very good spread but the food was pretty "aaarrggh...." if you know what I mean...but all in all, a pretty cool experience....
then we decided to witness something pretty weird and amusing....a pillow fight at union square in NYC....I mean this city never ceases to amaze me....a pillow fight with strangers? there were about 50-60 people all just wacking each other over the head with pillows...pretty neat and a great way to relieve stress!!!
check out the pics...something about free-spirtied, bohemian NY makes me wanna move there:)

These are a few of my favorite things.....
- LAUGHING - giggling non-stop for hours on one silly joke that just won't leave your head
- feeling the dew from the wet green grass tingle my toes
- sleeping for an additional 5 minutes (or 10?) after the alarm goes off
- touching fresh flowers, whethr they are in my building lobby or in a park...
- sitting in a coffee shop in the middle of manhattan, watching the crowds go by and knowing I have nothing to do and nowhere to get to
- watching the pink-orangish glow of the sunset and/or sunrise from my bedroom window, buried under a warm comforter...
- seeing the joy on someone's face after u've given them a surprise they had never dreamed of...
- standing at the edge of a cliff and feeling the wind in my hair
- watching the rain patter on the window pane and sipping a hot cup of tea
- having a tiny baby clutch my finger so tight like it never wants to let go....i'll never forget the feeling when ujjwal did that:)
- swinging in a swing set in the park and watching the world whizz past as I go higher and higher...
- sitting on a car bonnet and gazing at the stars...
- feeling the sun on my face while lying down on the sand, near a pristine beach
- talking to a friend after a year and knowing that although time has passed us by, we can still chatter and laugh about the same things...
- quietly smiling to yourself so that no one else notices
- resting my head in my mama's lap and knowing that there's no one who could love me more....
- dancing till you can't dance anymore, laughing till you get a tummy ache and singing till your voice gets shrill...

yep! I'm a goner....
I'm engaged...yep, I'm "officially" engaged...it was the best proposal ever....a dream come true....axe aka studdmuffin aka akshay took me for a sumptuous brunch at Tavern on the Green - a place I have always dreamed of going to...it was definitely very "shi shi" or "fru fru" (as some might say), but I felt like a queen....especially when the special dessert arrived complete with balloons attached to a wine glass (yes!!! definitely very shi shi). Axe had ordered a special dessert - a strawberry cake with the words "together forever" - I mean usually I would have reacted saying "Chessy", but I was really overwhelmed...we then went for a beautiful carriage ride in Central Park...really sweet and romantic, with a comforter over us to keep us warm...I have for some reason, always wanted to go in a carriage through Central park....I know, its very touristy, but very romantic....of course, except for the horse poop..lol
..........the final stop was Strawberry Fields, where John Lennon's (Beatles) death anniversary is celebrated. Axe is a HUUUGGGGEE fan of the Beatles....so of course, I should have seen it coming...there in front of 20 random people, with a guy on the guitar strumming " and I love her" he came down on one knee and asked me to marry him.....
I was stunned for all of 5 secs (staring at the size of the diamond, of course.....;) before saying yes and the entire crowd cheered...it was beautiful and very memorable.....
I can't believe I'm engaged...and Axe did such a good job...hehehhehe....I could see he was sorta nervous but he never really gave it away at all....
it feels great..and oh ya for all those curious about the ring..its diamond in a platinum setting;)
check out the pics...and thanks to everyone for their wishes:)
PS Axe my account is certainly better than yours...and its definitely not a teenage girl in a boy band concert (I am pretty sure I outgrew that when my parents decided spending $90 for a boy band was not worth it!!!)....where's your original funny and romantic posts about our relationship..tsk tsk tsk....looks like the creativity has hit rock bottom!!!

where is the love??
No seriously, where is the love? I mean justin timberlake sang this like a year ago and now i say to him..."nan magane, where is the love"....the reason for this sudden outburst against a fairly popular pop singer is because I went to his concert last nite!!! yes I paid money to see this dimwit perform live and lemme tell you he SUX!!!
A colleague of mine and I got really excited because we listen to some of his new songs everyday in the car - like "what goes around comes around, "sexy back" and "my love", and on a whim decided "hey! we r young, lets njoy and get tickets and dance the night away"....man! i am soo glad we din't buy the more expensive ones coz truly he sucked....he sang a few of his hits, played violently on the paino and guitar and sounded like he had a sore throat, shook his legs a couple times and that was it!!! i mean, i went to see Madonna in concert and even at 40 she was FANTASTIC..AWESOME...compared to this 25 year old nitwit!! no wonder cameron diaz dumped him!!!
He is an awesome dancer, but most of the show consisted of Pink and Timbaland...who I think was on crack coz no one had a clue what he was playing....Justin sang for barely an hour and the 18 year olds went nuts!!! that's when I realized...oh yes, I am old...I mean who listens to such painful ballads and who screams "justin i love you" - u got it - teenagers!!! all I wanted to scream was "u suck" and "gimme my money back"....
and for the piece de resitance - "sexy back" he dint even have any sexy moves, let alone a sexy back...I could have been a better backup dancer!!! for sure my back's sexier..lol...
anyways...moral of the story - no more pop concerts for me!!!!

and the partying never ends....
This weekend was very eventful...a bunch of my colleagues and my old BU friends got together for a co-worker's (Amanda's) 30th bday....the reason the BU folks were there was because my colleage - Amanda and I went to school together, so you'll never guess, but I was the common link!!! It was a surprise party for her - she was kinda depressed having reached the BIG 30 (now I know some others really close to me who reached the same number this year but seem perfectly happy, so I'm guessing Americans make too much of a big deal - say wot?)
Boy! was she surprised....she's soo demure and politically correct, but by the end of the nite, believe me, she had made some strong statements;) of course, we can blame it all on a few tequilla shots!!!
Met up with some really old friends of mine who were super shocked to know the developments in my life and in the other "desis" life...I mean one dude's jaw almost dropped...and the fun din't end there, as one of our old friends came out of the closet...I mean I always knew, but it was a giant leap for mankind;)
sat nite I went out with my darling bostonian cousins for salaam-e-ishq...i mean 4 hours long - cmon!!!! apart from the "desperate to do it" bhojpuri couple, there wasn't really "much funny" in the movie...and by 1AM I had had enough!!!! it was full of cliched dialogues, cliched love stories and even more cliched endings.....gotta hand it to John A. and Viday Balan though - they pitched in 2 phenomenal performances, in an otherwise fairly predictable and loud movie....I should have guessed - Govinda and the "bare-chested" dude figure prominently....wat more could we expect?
sunday was spent at swati dd's place...Ujjwal just gets cuter and cuter!!! he has started developing stranger anxiety..so I heard a earful from swati dd abt not visiting them more often...he looks like hes a gerber baby or sumthin...hes jst sooo sooo cute...if it hadnt been for aunty's (swati dd's mom) DELICIOUS chicken curry and bhindi fry, I would have goblled Ujjwal's cheeks up!!!
Sunday nite was again spent in great depression thinking about the week ahead...but not to worry..stay tuned for my tues nite concert details:):)):)
PS Superbowl anyone? I don't follow sports at all, but everyone at work talks about - so decided to log onto superbowl.com - check out the game stats and keep TV on mute for the entire game EXCEPT the ads!!! Ok! i know this is blasphemous for all u sports fans...but if u havent guessed already from my blog, I have quite a life....hahahaha...stay glued to this space for more;)
